Sirenas is a contemporary dance duet conceived for public spaces, specifically in proximity to water (fountains, lakes, or seaside locations). Drawing inspiration from the mythological figures of the Sirens and Circe (Kirki), ancient Greek goddesses associated with water, love, and death, the piece explores themes of feminine transformation, memory, and rebirth.
The choreography is a symbolic ritual, where two female performers, two bodies, interact with a blue fabric that evokes the image of a fish tail. Based on the non verbal communication and trust between the bodies, the performers enter into an intimate sharing. Their actions merge with the surrounding landscape, creating a dialogue between body and environment, while a soundscape of water enhances the sensorial experience.
